    Overview & Responsibilities

    We are currently embarking and laying the foundations on one of the worlds largest Google cloud migration projects (circa 2000 applications). As such we’re looking for individuals that are familiar with complex public cloud transformation pieces. Whether it's strategy/design and architecture you're interested in or hands on engineering with integration and implementation; we're keen to speak with you.

     

    Due to the size of this programme there is scope for you to ad value in each of the below areas:

     

    Networks:

    • Routing – how it works
    • Layer / level 3 concepts
    • VPN’s
    • Load balancing
    •  

    Security:

    • Logging methodology
    • Advise on Policy
    • Previous experience working with Enterprise Security Architects
    • Level of appreciation of auditing from regulators
    • Threat models

     

    Automation:

    • Solid Jenkins (Having built complete jobs from the ground up)
    • Machine Lifecycle management
    • CI/CD
    • Terraform (a plus) or Cloudformation

     

    Identity Management (IAM) – Enterprise level

     

    Qualifications

    • Strong Linux and system administration skills although windows backgrounds will also be considered.
    • Cloud migration with AWS, Azure or preferably GCP.
    • Willing to gain Google cloud certifications and upskill from AWS/Azure
    • Experience automating and orchestrating workloads on GCP or other Public Clouds
    • Automation experience with at least one configuration management system such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or other such tools
    • Experience working at least one of the following languages: Python, Go
    • Proficient with git and git workflows
    • Proficient in leveraging CI and CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Spinnaker) to automate testing and deployment
    • Experience working in an Agile, fast paced, DevOps environment
    • Experience in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of common web servers such as: Apache, Nginx, Lighttpd
    • Experience in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of MySQL/MariaDB
    • Consultancy experience in the financial services sector would be an advantage
