  • Overview & Responsibilities

    To develop & drive the SDR function in Rackspace, develop contacts within our Commercial and Enterprise business sectors. Leading a team of 4 Rackers working as and with Sales Development Reps, contributing to a growth team target. You will be adept at doing the role yourself, daily and coaching and guiding the Team and reporting on success and progress on a daily basis. The team will act as feeder of opportunity / lead generation function to Sales teams as well as a future talent sales talent perspective, should you desire to make that move. Finding the customers with the next 'big' projects is the nirvana state. You will align with the current sales managers team, working with your peers to achieve the company's goals for sustainable growth.

    This role maybe an opportunity for someone currently doing this role, that has ambitions to step up to leading a team and being trained in the principle of leadership from a global cloud services company with future ambitions of becoming a manager.

    Qualifications

    • Participate in regular sales meetings & stand-ups.
    • Engage with Marketing on Reviews of the Marketing funnel and lead status
    • Submit weekly/daily progress reports & participate in monthly kick-offs.
    • Monitors marketing & sales rep productivity in support of their territory development
    • Work with sales Operations to ensure lead scoring occurs.
    • Leads the Sales Dev team in following sales methodology and best practices, as well as using Salesforce.com as a system of record.
    • Provides ongoing mentorship to SDR’s teach appropriate prospecting techniques for securing new opportunities and prospects.
    • Be a qualifying, door opening machine
    • Conducts periodic reviews of business including effectiveness of activity, lead follow up, Conversion rates, prospecting and performance for each individual SDR.
    • Assesses skill sets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members in order to meet objectives, reinforce sales methodology and provide guidance on career path direction. Implement personal development plans for individual team members.
    • Guides SDR team members on how to manage relationships with principals extending to Channel Partners and work closely with the Sales Managers.
    • Implements processes that will keep the sales leadership team current on the status of all prospecting & lead generation on an on-going progress.
    • Provides direction and expertise to the team members and participate in cross-selling initiatives
    • Manages an appropriate pipeline and forecast
    • Work collaboratively with the Marketing team to continually optimise lead qualification strategy and processes
    • Participate in fortnightly Marketing/SDR meeting to align team priorities, lead follow-up scheduling, resourcing and reporting.
    • Work closely with Marketing team on SDR enablement requirements to support lead qualification.
    • Forecasts weekly appointments made, Lead to Ops conversion and revenue closed by the sales team on opportunities.
    • Effective management of own time.
    • To be aware of and comply with company and statutory requirements regarding ethical behaviour, health, safety, fire and hygiene.
    • 5+ years sales experienced required
    • Attitude to take on the world and in return get experience in leading effective Inside Sales People/Teams
    • BA business preferred but not required or 3+ years equivalent commercial experience.
    • Self-starter, highly aggressive and motivated to provide the highest possible level of responsiveness and performance from a team of people.
    • Outstanding sales, communication, and relationship-building, door opening skills.
    • Broad, relevant knowledge of technology and if you have cloud that a BIG bonus!
    • The ability to work effectively with people in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and drive results weekly, monthly and quarterly.
    • Willing to work hard.
