    We have a fantastic opportunity in our Rackspace Marketing team to offer a creative and energetic self-starter an opportunity to take that next step in their communications or marketing career.  Reporting into the Marketing Director ANZ, the Communications Manager is responsible for effectively leveraging media, analysts and partners to tell our Rackspace story through the eyes of our customers and strategic research programs.  As Rackspace’s brand ambassador and owner of our customer advocacy efforts, they will manage and evolve our key messages to market ensuring collaboration with the Programs, Channels and Sales teams around our defined and agreed Ideal Customer Profile.  This would suit a communications or marketing professional with 3 years’ experience looking to take that next step or redirection in their career.     JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Key Accountabilities

    • Support demand generation projects that require supporting research and messaging by identifying suitable third parties in support, writing and briefing agency and facilitating the execution of research projects and crafting suitable content output for use by the Programs team.
    • Brand ambassador for Rackspace ANZ – apply corporate brand guidelines and maintain an open pathway to our US brand team to leverage US content and provide feedback on how our brand resonates locally.
    • Own and manage our PR agency of record with a focus on driving customer stories to market.
    • Ensure all ANZ Go-to-Market Point of Views are aligned with the strategic direction of our local business.
    • Manage all locally and global (where relevant) generated press releases and manage the approvals process i.e. customer, any third party and US corporate. Manage media briefings with our internal spokespeople.
    • Ensure a continuous pipeline of customer story opportunities by working alongside account owners and with a view to determining suitability for media and/or video case studies and business use cases. Coordinate customer interactions – interviews, video production crews, etc. 
    • Manage and nurture our local brand initiative Curiosity that supports our brand values around delivering Fanatical Experience.
    • Work with the Sales Enablement Manager ANZ and US Product & Content teams to ensure a seamless messaging experience for Sales and Marketing including identifying messaging and collateral requirements while ensuring alignment with our ANZ Ideal Customer Profile, global personas and local business priorities.
    • Liaise with local and global stakeholders to plan and execute local Analyst briefings.
    • Manage monthly PR reports and summarise high value coverage for the US PR team’s global report.
    • Work closely with the Programs team to help identify customer speakers in support of events. Assist in helping brief and prepare customers to participate on our behalf.
    • Work closely with the Channel Marketing Manager to meet agreed AWS and Microsoft targets for referenceable customers, customer press releases and customer case studies.
    • Coordinates with other teams to assist in implementation of communication strategies where applicable.

     

    Experience/Knowledge:

    •   The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years communications or marketing experience, ideally gained within IT   services.
      • Knowledge of the Australia/New Zealand media landscape
      • Experience in applying PR and communications best practices
      • Experience in nurturing customer relationships to be strong advocates for Rackspace
      • Excellent negotiation, influencing, presentation and problem solving skills.
      • Understanding and experience of the customer buying cycle and persona based marketing programs
      • Experience in thought leadership initiatives and how these can translate into commercial outcomes

       

      Skills:

      • Excellent communication skills in email, copywriting, presentation, and the ability to influence and establish credibility with senior spokespeople.
      • Strong project management skills driving execution with competing deadlines and priorities
      • Creativity in delivering communications through different channels.
      • Must thrive working in an entrepreneurial, hands-on team environment, but also be a self-starter having the ability to think on their feet and work under their own initiative
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Good interpersonal skills with ability to establish positive relationships with internal subject matter experts, senior spokespeople, external agencies and customers
      • Experience with content production, including video production
      • Strong process and effective project management skills driving execution cross-functionally with competing deadlines and priorities. Ability to work strategically and tactically.
      • Self-motivated, sense of urgency and strong customer focus.

       

       

       

      Qualifications: A Marketing, Communications degree or similar equivalent
